1937 Rolls-Royce 40/50 hp Phantom III Rolling Chassis
Chassis no. 3CM139
Engine no. W18G

3CM139 was ordered in November 1937 by construction magnate Sir Robert McAlpine, a highly valued customer of Rootes Ltd. of Piccadily, London, keen motorist and Rolls-Royce afficianado. Thrupp & Maberly were commissioned to build the enclosed limousine coachwork and the complete car was delivered to his Pall Mall, London address in March 1938. The car appears to have remained in his ownership through the war years, probably being traded in 1946, and records show that 3CM139 remained in England at least until 1954.

Its later history, or when it came to the USA, is not recorded however it was acquired by Frank Cooke in 1984 from David Martinez of Texas in fire-damaged condition.

We are told that it has been started in the years since acquisition but has not been run in very recent years and condition of the engine is unknown.

It is offered with firewall, hood front and rear fenders, headlamps, sidelamps, center spotlight, twin horns and with engine, gearbox and radiator in place, but is sold fire-damaged and strictly as viewed, either as a useful source of spares or as a challenging restoration project. It comes with a 1984 Texas Certificate of Title and copies of Rolls-Royce Factory Order and Build Sheets.
