What are Little Smokies?

Little Smokiesare small smoked pork sausages found in the refrigerated meat section at most grocery stores. This recipe simmers them in a finger licking sweet and savory sauce. Basically delicious tiny hot dog wieners!

Storing leftovers

On the rare instance you have leftover lil smokies, they’ll keep in the fridge for about 3 to 5 days. Store them in an airtight container.

To reheat, you can microwave them for 1-2 minutes or cook in a pot on the stove until warm or pop in the oven.

Can you freeze Little Smokies?

You can freeze the little smokies in the sauce in an airtight container. Thaw the container overnight, then reheat the smokies on the stove or in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz smoked co*cktail sausage
  • 2 tablespoons grape jelly
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

  • Allow the mixture to boil slightly.

  • Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the co*cktail sausages are cooked through.

  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. The sauce will thicken on standing.

  • Top with parsley and serve with toothpicks.
