Virgil McCullough

Grapevine - Virgil Glen McCullough, age 69, of Grapevine passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was born February 22, 1949 in Warren, AR to the late Virgil and Pauline McCullough. He was a retired carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lavonne Lloyd McCullough. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars.

He is survived by his son Chris McCullough of Grapevine, two sisters, Linda Huskey of Wilmar, Paula Beadle (Bill) of White Hall, one granddaughter Sydney Marie Plunkett and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Atchley Cemetery.

Brenda Minor

Brenda Ann Boyd Wimberly Minor, 65, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at UAMS in Little Rock.

Mrs. Minor was born March 2, 1953, in Natchez, Mississippi, to Excell Jerome and Betty Louise Ballard Boyd. She is also survived by two sons, Shawn Christopher and his wife Sarah Wimberly of Pelsor, Arkansas and Brandon Keith and his wife Corrie Wimberly of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two grandsons, Boyd Archer and Dean Beckett Wimberly of Siloam Springs; brother, Bradley Boyd; sister, Nancy and her husband Ricky Lee of White Hall, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Minor was preceded in death by her first husband Bobby Leon Wimberly, who passed away in 2003; and her second husband Danny Kenneth Minor, who passed away in 2016.

Growing up in Pine Bluff, she attended Dollarway School and graduated from White Hall High School in 1971. In 1975, she received her Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Henderson State College in Arkadelphia. Brenda taught 8th grade English in the Mena School District for 26 ½ years and retired in 2003.

She was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas. In 2012, she moved to Knoxville, Arkansas, where she remained faithful to her Lord at First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Arkansas, and was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class and JOY. Brenda enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing from her dock on the Arkansas River. She also enjoyed finding and sharing new recipes, and cooking for those she loved. Brenda’s special joy was being “Maw Maw” to her grandsons.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 27, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Black Bear Hall in Lake Fort Smith State Park, 15458 Shepherd Spring Road, Mountainburg, Arkansas 72946.

Virginia Grimes

Virginia Lee (Ruple) Grimes, 82, of White Hall, Arkansas passed away August 16, 2018 at her home. She was born February 25, 1936 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Burl Edward Ruple and Bronnie Fay (Robinson) Ruple.

In 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Grimes, who preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage. She was a Southern Baptist and a member of Dollarway Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Past Worthy Matron. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers, B.E. Ruple and Franklin "Dub" Ruple and her sister, Patricia (Ruple) Clark. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Barnes (Del) of White Hall and Karen Lavendier (Jim) of London; six grandchildren, Blake Barnes (Emily), Kirsten Barnes, Cynthia Lavendier, Christina Baker (Cole), Ariana Lavendier, Charlie Lavendier; four great-grandchildren, Lawson Carlson, Greenlee Barnes, Natalya Baker and Lane Barnes; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Roller-Mcnu*tt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, at the funeral home with Brett Cottrell officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 S. Camden Rd. #12, Pine Bluff, AR 710603.
