Dogs that are that dangerous should never be off-leash.
I can never understand the idiots who do that. You see it time and time again. That kind of temperament just can’t roam free outside.

Isn't it illegal to be off-leash anyway? I know in Durban it is.

You would pepper spray a young girl still in primary school?
The dogs. Why would you spray the girl? She isn't attacking anyone.

just earlier today, saw a sign that said,
"want to know if there is life after death? hop this fence and find out" should have taken a photo, the capetown people here would have told me if they serious or not.
and there were these 2 pitbulls in one of the dodgy parts of CPT that catches us JHB people unaware, especially when we get lost because CPT is weird.
was thinking to myself, why do people keep dogs like this thinking it will protect them? firstly the dogs bark at anything that moves,
so as an alarm system they are next to hopeless, and secondly, one little piece of meat with some rat poison will take the dogs out quietly,
dogs dont have lots of intelligence, so they WILL eat it, and die quickly in the middle of the night, the Tsotsis will hop the fence and having 2 pitbulls will make zero difference.
so why keep dogs as guard dogs? Id rather get cameras and beams or fences rather that 2 noisy dogs that bark incessantly at leaves falling from trees.

Pepper spray should work on all dogs. Their noses are extremely sensitive. Spray them in the face an empty the remainder of the can in the dogs' owners as well.
Two dogs, once spray.

Watching that video is hardcore, the way they bite and them shake their heads vigorously to rip meat off
I love dogs but those things are wild animals. I've interacted with a friends pitbulls and even when they knew me they were fkn scary and unhinged, maybe some get bred right and brought up right but I'd wager most do not. Ban them just because not many people know how to manage them and hence they are a menace to society.

Not a firm hand, you should never smack your dog, but strong breeds need strong energy types.
Lol, I'm not talking about beating dogs but rather the type of character that takes charge. That's not to say that dogs don't need corrections but there is a way to do it without making the dog hand shy or nervous.
People do a lot of things wrong with dogs in my experience...
1. They talk to dogs like they're humans without realising that it creates issues down the line
2. They fail to train the "come" and "out or release" commands adequately
3. They don't teach their children how to behave around dogs

Put the dogs down , they have tasted human flesh , cannot be trusted to not do it again and charge the owner with attempted manslaughter.
Time to set an example and make a precedent regarding dog attacks in public spaces.
This is just completely unacceptable.

Those dogs probably will be put down but I don't know about charging the owner. This is South Africa after all.

If the owner cannot be charged , then the victim should sue for everything , medical costs , loss of income , trauma counselling , everything and anything that can stick on a charge sheet.
That owner should be paying off that debt for the rest of his life , and his offspring as well , as she walked the dogs without leashes.
People need to be held accountable ,examples need to be made , and precedents set that send a blatant harsh message.
